I've recently found this mod called NuclearCraft and haven't really seen anyone mention it before. Note: This is not an IC2 Addon, it works with RF! It's a really great mod, and needs a bit more love! It adds scalable Fission and Fusion reactors, different types of fuel, a nuclear powered furnace, a nuke and a passive RTG generator (and lots more).

If you're running a normal map (Not compact sky), a max size reactor should be able to achieve it without effort. NuclearCraft doesn't work like Extreme Reactors does, where (basically) the bigger you build it, the more power it produces.
