The Jalama hamburger from the Beach Store was very good. But the beach: I walked a couple miles south then back; was a lot of smelly seaweed and bird dung (assuming from the smell), but worst was the numerous clumps of tar/oil on the sand and rocks. Looked like somebody poured driveway sealer on the rocks.

The burger and chili cheese fries were awesome. This is a gem of a place tucked away amongst the camping/RV sites @ the Jalama Beach county park. We stayed at one of the RV sites and found that the store was very convenient for us. It was nice to have store & a burger place within waking distance. The owners of the store are helpful & personable. Facilities at the beach park include a store with everything from groceries and beer and wine to bait and tackle and firewood.
